At our recent meeting in Stockholm we have taken steps to address these deficiencies. In particular, we have removed all text copied from any draft of the VRML standard, including node names. We have also referenced DIS 14772 where appropriate. As you strongly urge, we intend to work closely and cooperatively with the VRML Consortium and SC24 to develop the technology in MPEG-4 needed for a rich set of multimedia products and services. We believe this will result in an MPEG-4 standard that will serve as a stimulus to both the 3D Graphics and the multimedia industries. In this regard we would like to invite you to our next ad hoc committee meeting on scene description in MPEG-4. It will take place in Rennes, France on September 24-26, 1997. Our next general MPEG meeting is in Fribourg, Switzerland on October 27-31, 1997 to which you are also wholeheartedly invited.
