DIN NI-22 is the German mirror committee to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 22. The
internal structure of NI-22 closely mirrors that of SC 22. It
comprises the following working groups (AK =3D Arbeitskreise). Its
working groups generally focus on participating in the corresponding
international standardization activities except for AK 1.=20

AK 1: PEARL =09
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

AK 1 "PEARL" develops and maintains the DIN standards relating to the
"Process and Experiment Automation Realtime Language" PEARL:

 *  DIN 66253, Part 1, Basic PEARL, 1981 (withdrawn)
 *  DIN 66253, Part 2, Full PEARL, 1982 (replaced by PEARL 90)
 * DIN 66253, Part 3, PEARL for distributed systems, 1989
 *  DIN 66253, Part 2, PEARL 90, 1998

AK 1 is exceptional in that its standardization activities do not
map to any activity in JTC1.

AK 4: Cobol
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 4 "Cobol" represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 4. Currently, AK 4
and thus German participation in WG 4 is dormant, but we hope to
revitalize it in the near future.

AK 5: Fortran
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 5 "Fortran" represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 5.

AK 9: Ada=20
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 9 "Ada" represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 9.

AK 11: Sprachbindungen / Binding Techniques
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 11 "Sprachbindungen / Binding Techniques"
represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 11.

AK 14: C
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 14 "C" represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 14.

AK 17: Prolog
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

AK 17 is active in WG 17 "Prolog". Germany follows the current upsurge
of activities in WG 17 with considerable interest.

AK 20: Internationalisierung / Internationalization=09
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=

=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Germany provides the editor for TR 10176 "Guidelines for the
preparation of programming language standards".

AK 21: C++
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Members of AK 21 "C++" represent NI-22 in SC 22/WG 21.

Other Activities
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Together with a major software company NI 22 is currently
investigating standardization requirements relating to cross-language
interoperability.
