There is widespread commercial interest in this language. Therefore, the US proposes that an Ad-Hoc on Standardization of Java be held at the upcoming London SC22 Plenary, to discuss further steps. The Ad Hoc should consider the following topics: Current Java-related standardization activities What could be standardized ? byte code, language, class libraries ?
