There will be networked PCs and laser printers (with facilities for connection of notebook computers) available for the use of delegates. Office 97 will be provided. There will also be facility for email and WWW access.

From the airports:

Tegel:

The international airport of Berlin, called Flughafen Tegel, is located approx. 15 km from the center of the city. There is a direct bus (line 109) to the center at a price of 3,90 DEM (single ticket) which takes you every 10 minutes directly to station Zoologischer Garten (approx. 30 min), as well as an express bus (line X9), which takes you from the airport via station Zoologischer Garten to Bayreuther Straße and Budapester Straße (nearby the meeting location (DIN)). You can also take a taxi to the center, it costs about 35,00 DEM (one way).

Schönefeld:

The airport Schönefeld, is located approx. 30 km southeast from the center of the city. Take the S-Bahn S 9 (3,90 DEM, single ticket) that will bring you to the station U-Bahn Zoologischer Garten. From the U-Bahn Zoologischer Garten take the U-Bahn (line 2, direction Vinetastraße) that will bring you to the station Wittenbergplatz, directly (approx. 45 min).

Tempelhof:

The airport Flughafen-Tempelhof is about 5 km from the site of DIN. From the airport the bus (line 119 direction S-Bhf. Grunewald) will bring you close to the meeting place, if you leave at stop U-Bhf. Wittenbergplatz or Europa-Center. Alternatively, take the U-Bahn (line 6, direction Tegel) change at station Hallesches Tor (line 1, direction Krumme Lanke). Get out at Wittenbergplatz. Or take the U-Bahn (line 6, direction Tegel) change at station Stadtmitte (line 2, direction Ruhleben). Get out at Wittenbergplatz.

You can also take a taxi to the center, it costs about 35,00 DEM (one way).

by Railway

If you arrive by train, you should make sure to arrive at station Zoologischer Garten which is located in the centre of the city. It has a subway station, bus and taxi stops. A taxi ride to most hotels will cost approx. 15,00 DEM (one way).

From the station Zoologischer Garten you can take a taxi to DIN e.V.. Alternatively, take the bus 100 to stop 'Bayreuther Straße', or take a 10-minute-walk down 'Budapester Straße'.

Tickets for bus, subway (U-Bahn) and city railway (S-Bahn) can be purchased at the automatic ticket machines at the stations.

Credit cards

All major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and a lot of shops in Berlin.

DIN cannot accept any responsibility for accidents, losses and/or damages which may occur during your visit in Germany. Delegates are advised to obtain travel, medical, personal accident and luggage insurance in their countries prior to departure.

Please refer to the attached hotel list. Bookings should be made directly by you at the hotel of your choice or via your travel agency. No rooms have been reserved. Please book as early as possible as during the summer holidays the hotel rooms are in great demand.
